The surf-inspired, Baja-style Mexican-food Chain Taco Del Mar has announced that starting yesterday, vegan Beyond Meat crumbles are available at all of its locations in the United States and Canada.
The vegan beef crumbles are available at all of the over 100 Taco Del Mar locations, and can be found as part of the Beyond Meat Taco, which can be made vegan by removing the cheese. However, even better, the crumbles can be added into any other item the chain offers, which includes tacos, burritos, taco salads and enchiladas.
The chain tested out the vegan meat at select locations earlier this year, and it was so successful that they quickly decided to expand the item to be available nations-wide.
“Introducing a plant-based protein to our menu allows us to offer our meat-eating customers looking to reduce their meat intake an option that doesn’t sacrifice on taste, and also expands our vegetarian and vegan options,” says Chef Mike Gieseman, Director of Culinary and Innovation for Taco Del Mar parent company REGO Restaurant Group.
“By introducing Beyond Meat to our guests, we continue our commitment to producing innovative and delicious menu offerings that embrace our signature Baja-style Coastal Mexican flavors.”
Taco Del Mar now joins several other Mexican-food chains which offer vegan meat options, including Qdoba, Del Taco and Chipotle.
